This is my last event report in 2010...the season was long and now I must spend time to my study!!! So, to the last competition I was invited at the 2nd edition of the ITOC in Itlay which was held on the beautifull polo culb of Monte Argentario at the north of Roma.
My father who is my coach most of time was realy busy with his job and had no chance to come with me...and you know how much a coatch is important into your succes of a competition...and when I was looking for a new one David Netzer alias "La Nedz" proposed me to come!!! After some years off for him, this trip was his come back ;-)
The competition took place on the peninsula of Monte Argentario, and I want to say an unsual peninsula with montain inside!!! Some views from the hotel, it look like an holidays place...
The contest director Mario Silvagni, explained us during the brefing what is the mean concept of this new contest...he wants combine as much as possible the freestyle and pattern flights to make the event attractive for pilots and spectators. He uses also a new system of classification which is based on direct qualification from round to round, but all points from the qualification rounds to the final rounds are take into the final result!!! It is hard to explain all, but most are explain into www.itoc.it For final pilots we flew 10 flights, 5 freestyle and 5 pattern included 2 unknown which were very hard. Fly 10 competition flights into 2 days is a really hard challenge for pilot and coach....and a lot of work, i can say it was one of the hardest and strongest competition which I did!
The two unknwons.
Some views of the airfield, only 13 pilots came for the 2nd edition, but number is growing since last year which is a good thing!
Helicopters raimbow over the runway ;-)
This is a short presentation of the top 9.
1st place Gernot Bruckman the new soldiers...he flew with a great regularity from the begining to the end of the competition and won all rounds, what more?? he used two planes, one for freestyle powered by a DA170 and the other one for pattern is powered by the DA200 which makes a very low level of noise....maybe it is an alternative solution for the growing trouble of noise!
The DA200, you can see the engine deflector which is realy important for a four cylinders.
2nd place Mr Sebastiano Selvestry the owner and designer of Sebart compagny, he used the last version of the Suhkoi 29 from Krill-Models with a 220c from mintor....for sure the most powered airplane of the competition. By his great experience he flew with a good regularity through the competition.
3rd place, me ;-) and some flights under the rain. I used my new Yal 55M from krill-models, I will tell more about it soon in this website ;-) I was around the 5th place during the qualification then I switch to the 3rd place at the end, for sure the unknwons with a good coatch helped me a lot during the semi and final!
4th Place my friend Filippo Materazzi, just ready some days before the contest he used two planes, one for pattern the Sukhoi 29 from Krill and one for freestyle the new Yak 55M from krill-models with new wings. By the previous links you can visit his website with a lot of informations about his planes...
5th place Thomas Hermanke from Austria, he flew with a yak 54 from QQ and as you can see equiped with heavy wing tip smoke!!!.
6th Place Martin Brandmuller, an other young and talented Austrian pilot...one more! his plane was a Yak 54 from Extrem Flight powered by a DA120. I hope to seen soon on internet a video of his freestyle...it was really good and with a lot of 3D on the music!
Unfortunatly during the final his plane loose one wing during a snap...he landed it quiet hard but with one wing it is already unbelievable!
7th Place,Sache Fliegener from Germany with the new sukhoi 31 from C-ARF, a so big plane!!
8th place Sacha Cecconi a young italian pilot.
9th Place, the young pilot David Duval from France flew with a Michigan-rc yak 55m powered by a DA120cc
I want say some words about my good friend Albertto Carallo who broke his plane during the first flight, he missed a lot during the week-end ;-) I hope to see you soon! For the diner the organisators had booked a yacht...nothing less!!!
It was for me the opportunity to meet Marco Mazzuccheli the young F3A pilot who finished at the 5th place of the last F3A European Championship!
Finalist pilot together in the air...
Mr Revoc from Poland was on the airfield, he made good presents for the three youngest pilots, you can find all informations about his brand of wing bag in this link. Believe me the quality is really good to keep your plane in good condition....especially when you are little be bully like me!!!!
