Some news from USA, where I am for the ETOC2010...

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Some words about the preparation before leaving. After some test with my old Elipsia-FT on the ETOC2010 sequence I have made one new Elipsia-FT with modifications, for the pattern sequence especially to improve the knife edges manoeuvre...see the sequence.

I was in Paris the week-end before to train in a large hall with one of my friends in a big hall, then I prepared my box to carry the planes...

Last tuesday with my friend Julien we arrived at Chicago airport, without hall to train we had two days for visiting the city.

Yesterday (Tuesday) we arrived at Toledo and we have started the training...the shape of the hall is different than in many european hall, hence  I spent time to adjust the size of my flights in it.

The Symmetric is the new design of Donatas, as the name say the fuselage (and wings of course!!!) is symmectric...

The first day of the competition is now finish, it was a long day from 11am to 12pm in the hall. Finaly I am now at the 8th place...which allow me to be in the semi-final tomorrow.

The level in pattern is high, and in freestyle there are so many different style!!! I didn't took so much picture today, but you can find more in this two links RCGROUPS and GROSSEVOLTIGE.

Saturday and the last day, during the morning we was at the Toledo Show, where we saw for the first time some new planes and of course aerobatics planes.

Extreme Flights presented new planes as the 78" extra , or some older which are now upgraded as the vanquish.

Saturday evening the semi-final and final round were flewn, Donatas, Gernot and I flew the semi-final but only Gernot and Don were in the final, I finished at the 8th place.

Donatas were in USA for the first time, he was ready and really motivate, therefore he flew good and finish the competition at the 4th place, congratulation to him...I know that he have worked  very hard to prepare this contest since some years ;-) congratulation matte!

And for Gernot after he finished so many time close to the first place he won this year for the first time...it is also the result of many years of work and many travel in USA!!! Congratulation too.

RJ Gritter was at the forst place during a long part of the contest and he won the both trophy of the best freestyle and best pattern.
