New Yak 55FT Print

dscf3092The new product from Donuts is here, this is the new Yak 55 FT reshaped by me, my base for this design was the Yak55SP, on it I have increased the scale to reduce wing loading, increased control areas to improve 3d manoeuver, extended level arm on the stabilizators and some other small modifications...!

Lacking imagination, I asked Jerome Chambon for his help, he made a very nice color-scheme, you can see the result on the pictures...great job Jerome!

Concerning the set up, I use the same servos as the one I use on my last Yak 55SP, 2*JR S185 for rudder and elevator, fed by 7.4V direct from the battery, 1*HS56B for ailerons with big arm for big travel.

For engine: I am trying a new motor which is in the  latest fashion for aerobatics:  the AXI2203/RACE with 2300RPM/V!!!! Today I can say for sure that the power is absolutely incredible for indoor planes. I use It with a GWS 8*4.3 propeller and a controler Phoenix 10A.

Yak just arrived, my model is one of the pre production, with no assembly slits .dscf3050

The airframe at the end of the assembling. I made the hinges with scotch for the ailerons and with a piece of plastic, like classical hinges, for elevator and rudder. In my opinion, classical hinges with pull-pull cable is  the best way to have good precision on your plane....

Connections between servos, receiver and ESC are all made with wire copper enamelled.

The wires are soldered directly into the receiver(without plugs)(IRX6.7) and I also keep two free plugs; for the special effect servo or to have spare plugs if I need to change a servo quickly on the field, for instance.

Once finished, the aircraft  weighs 120g without battery, add 20 to 30g to obtain  the final flying weight. I use extreme power 450mah 7.4v.

You can see here two videos of the Yak55FT, the first is a synchro flight with Gernot Bruckmann and the second is a demo flight which include my aeromusical routine.
